Part II
In part one of this post (If you missed it click here to read it) John became outraged when a complete stranger backed his Ford F-150 out of a parking spot at the Office Supply store and ran over John’s brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle. John became outraged. Infuriated beyond his control, John pummelled the guy to death with his bare hands and feet.
John was sentenced to the Electric Chair and was put to death for his actions. His decision to retaliate in such a way cost him his own life. I’m sure you would agree, that was a bad decision on John’s part. He could have handled the situation differently hense made a different decision on how to handle his brand-new motorcycle getting destroyed.
Decision #2
The following is another decision; a better decision. We’ll pick the story up the moment John sees the F-150 back up and total out his brand-new motorcycle.
“The Ford truck kept backing up when it should have stopped and turned out of the parking spot. Instead, it kept moving back in reverse and the next thing John hears is the crashing and crunching sound of twisted metal as the back wheels of the Ford Pickup truck ran over his brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle.” Most people in this situation would be outraged at what just happened. Just like John was in the first scenario.
They would want to retaliate. They would want blood. Not John. John actually thought that something might have happened to the driver of the truck. “Maybe he had a stroke or maybe a heart attack” John reasoned. John ran to the scene of the crime as quickly as he could. When he got to the man’s truck, the man was walking toward the back of the truck. When John got to the scene he said to the man, “Sir, are you okay? Is something wrong” in a genuinely concerned voice.
The man said that he was fine, but had gotten a text from his sister about her car breaking down. “I should have waited to reply back. I wasn’t paying attention. If this is your bike I am so sorry. I’ll pay for whatever it cost to fix it,” the man continued. John said that he was so worried that something bad happened and wanted to make sure you were alright. “The bike can be fixed. I’ve got insurance so I’m not too worried about that,” John said. “Well I guess we need to call the police so we can file an accident report.” The guy responded, “Yes, I’m calling now.”
New Friendship
It took a little while before the police showed up. In that time John and Jim started chatting. Come to find out that they grew up in the same area and actually went to the same high school. John was older than Jim but they did know a few people back home. After all this was over, John and Jim became good friends.
About six months later Jim invited John over for a cookout. At the cookout was Jim’s sister. It just so happened that Jim’s sister and John were both single. And what-da-ya know…they fell for each other. Got married. Had kids and lived happily ever after.
Conclusion
One event and in this case two possible outcomes. I wanted to throw this story in here to illustrate the decisions I made in my life that led me to place my faith in Jesus Christ. Had I made just one different decision, had the circumstances that played out from the decisions that I made been different, all the right ingredients that led me to the front door of the Kingdom NEVER would have happened. Check out the Facebook post down below. It’s very relatable to this story.
